“This clip was filmed as part of an improvisational experiment for the comic book and future film FOGTOWN (http://Fogtown.com) in a favela in Brazil. Animal Collective has been a constant inspiration; here their music tells the story of two girls learning to fly from Falcón, leader of the Raptors bicycle gang.” - Ari Gold
“It was an honor to be asked to participate in the Birdsong Project, and such a joy to create this song when we did. We started working on it in the spring of 2021 just as the first vaccine doses became available and people started to emerge from isolation. For the entire year prior, a lot of us took to the woods as our only way to safely socialize. In fact the first time the two of us saw each other in person after 6 months of lockdown was for a masked hike in the mountains of North Carolina; the same mountains where the recordings of this brown thrasher were made. It felt like time to celebrate the solace that nature gave us during that isolation, as well as time to celebrate the more direct communication with other beings that finally seemed to be on the horizon. And that joy went into the music.” - Avey Tare & Geologist
